Ken Sallee, from Mukwonago, Wisconsin, is known for his active involvement in advocating for transparency and accountability within local institutions. He gained public attention through his TikTok account, “Kensconsin,” where he discusses various issues affecting the community and our country.

Ken is many things—husband, father, retired Army veteran, content creator, and investigative journalist—but above all, he is a man on a mission. With a deep sense of duty and a passion for truth, Ken founded Waukesha County Watch to help bring transparency and accountability to local government and school leadership.
Originally from Kentucky, Ken met his wife in 2004 while they were both stationed in Germany during their military service. After serving 23 years in the U.S. Army, Ken retired and, in 2022, he and his family made the move to Mukwonago, Wisconsin—his wife’s hometown—to begin the next chapter of their lives.

But Ken’s passion for service didn’t retire with his uniform. He became increasingly concerned with the lack of transparency he observed in local school boards, village boards, and school administrations. He felt that families and communities were being left in the dark about decisions that directly impacted their lives.
In March 2024, Sallee’s daughter reported inappropriate behavior by a teacher at Mukwonago Area School District (MASD). Despite investigations and the teacher’s subsequent resignation, Sallee felt that the district was not forthcoming with information regarding the case. Frustrated by the lack of transparency, he, along with a Kenosha County reporter, filed a lawsuit against MASD in November 2024, seeking the release of related records. Ken’s lawsuit was successful, as MASD turned over records they previously withheld, and paid Ken’s legal fees.
Sallee’s experiences underscored the need for greater openness in local governance, leading him to establish Waukesha County Watch. This initiative aims to monitor and report on local government actions, ensuring that the community remains informed and that public officials are transparent and held accountable.
Through sharp investigative work, Ken and Waukesha County Watch hope to become a vital resource for the citizens of Mukwonago and the greater Waukesha County area. By shining a light on what happens in local government meetings and school districts, Ken wants to help everyday people stay informed, stay involved, and stand up for what’s right.
