Legal Victories
Waukesha County Watch isn’t afraid to challenge school systems, administrators, school boards, or any government agency when they violate the law, especially FOIA/Public Records Laws. As citizens, we have a legal right to open public records, and government agencies have a legal obligation to abide by the law. The Wisconsin Public Records Law, codified as Wis. Stat. §§ 19.31-19.39, generally ensures public access to government records, with some exceptions, and is based on the principle that the public is entitled to the greatest possible information about government affairs.
Here is a look at some of the legal victories that Waukesha County Watch has had over the years.
Kenneth W. Sallee et al vs. Joseph Koch et al
Filed – November 25, 2024
Decided – March 24, 2025
Waukesha County Watch requested an investigation of a school employee allegedly touching and grooming a child. Mukwonago Area School District and Dr. Joe Koch (Superintendent) didn’t provide all the documents. After a court hearing in front of Judge Brad Schimel, MASD agreed to turn over the records they had initially concealed, and pay our court costs.
